Humor gráfico e ilustración en la primera Playboy


En el primer número de Playboy estuvieron presente ilustradores como el alemán Franz Altschuler que después ilustraría un cuento del genial Ray Bradbury, Leon Bellin que es casi un desconocido para mi, William L. Marsh cuya ilustración, para la introducción de Sherlock Holmes escrito por Arthur Conan Doyle, acompaña ahora la cabecera del blog. El elegante pero aburrido conejo de Arv Miller es el que nos da la bienvenida, también el lápiz de Miller esta presente en algunas ilustraciones para artículos como el "Party Jokes".

En humor gráfico tenemos varios desconocidos pero destacan: Gardner Rea que también realizó varias portadas para The New Yorker. Hay una selección del genial Virgil Partch (VIP) sustraído de su libro "Wild, wild women". Sale Julien Dedman pero sinceramente no sobresale, eso si Dedman hizo las portadas, e imagino los dibujos interiores de los Limerick que Issac Asimov publicó en varios libros. En la hoja final, que anunciaba el contenido del siguiente número, podemos ver una ilustración de Lace creada por Milton Caniff.
